Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.
Godrej Industries has presence in chemicals, estate management (real estate), finance & investments.
On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Patel Engineering's Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar said, "Our focus remains on delivering long-term value for our stakeholders while continuously enhancing operational efficiency and output."

Tata Group's telecom gear firm Tejas Networks has completed the supply of telecom equipment to BSNL to set up 1 lakh sites for 4G and 5G services under the deal awarded in August 2023, the company said in a recent update.
"We shipped more than 100,000 sites for the BSNL 4G/5G network. This is one of the largest single-vendor RAN networks in the world ever delivered in record time. So I think I'm very proud of the team and also the consortium of TCS, C-DoT and our customer BSNL for actually helping us make this happen," Tejas Networks CEO and Managing Director Anand Athreya said during the company's recent earnings call.

Precision engineering firm Azad Engineering on Sunday said it has signed an agreement worth USD 53.5 million with GE Vernova's Steam Power Services business unit for supply of airfoils for nuclear and thermal power industries.
The contract, spanning over six years (up to 2030) covers manufacturing and supply of highly engineered and complex rotating and stationary airfoils for advanced nuclear, industrial, and thermal power industries, Azad Engineering said in a statement.
The pact comes on the heels of the inauguration of the company's 7,600 sq m lean manufacturing facility dedicated to meeting volume capacity obligations, it said.
The order also strengthens the company's existing strategic long-term relationship with GE Vernova's Steam Power Services business unit.
"This six-year agreement through 2030 strengthens our position in the global power generation supply chain and validates our precision engineering capabilities for critical applications," said Rakesh Chopdar, Chairman

A sharp rise in cargo volumes and a significant jump in container traffic have propelled Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP), Kolkata, to the top of the growth chart among India's major ports in April 2025, with 45.32 per cent year-on-year increase in
throughput.
The SMP, formerly known as Kolkata Port Trust, handled 5.967 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in April 2025 compared to 4.106 MMT in the same month last year, the highest growth recorded among all major ports in the country.
A key driver of this growth was a 31.18 per cent surge in container traffic, with the port handling 75,716 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), up from 57,717 TEUs in April 2024, the port said.
It comprises 62,021 TEUs at the Kolkata Dock System (KDS) and 13,695 TEUs at the Haldia Dock Complex (HDC).
At the dock level, HDC handled 4.363 MMT, registering a 45 per cent increase from 2.993 MMT in April 2024, while KDS handled 1.604 MMT, a rise of 44 per cent from 1.113 MMT last year.

Realty firm Macrotech Developers Ltd plans to launch housing projects worth Rs 19,000 crore across Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune and Bengaluru during this fiscal as it seeks to expand business amid strong demand for residential properties.

In an interview with PTI, Macrotech Developers Executive Director- Finance Sushil Kumar Modi said the company remains bullish about the growth prospects in Indian real estate sector and will keep investing to expand business.
"In the last fiscal, we launched around 10 million square feet area with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of around Rs 14,000 crore spread across 24 projects," he said.
Modi said the company would launch 17 housing projects in the current fiscal covering 13 million square feet area and an estimated sales booking potential of Rs 19,000 crore.

A Parliamentary panel has sought detailed information from regulator CCI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on various aspects of competition in relation to the digital markets, including those pertaining to the digital competition bill, according to sources.
